Destroy All Conifers

from Destroy All Conifers by Quintessence

/

about

This was the first song I ever recorded on PC-based multi-track recording software.

I had high hopes for a song full of the scientific names of conifer trees, but instead we have a steady rock riff with a radio tuning in and out. At some point you can hear the words ‘People of Earth: Dedicate yourselves to my cause and destroy all conifer trees’, which is soon followed by ‘It’s not that difficult, just use an axe.’

The song was suppose to be the opposite sound of the closing song ‘Planting Broadleaves’ which was supposed to form some nature conservation-themed opus. It didn’t really work though.
